Barr. Maurice Oru Ebam, immediate Past National Youth Leader of African Democratic Congress, ADC and interim Chairman, Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria has advocated against the political marginalization of women in politics by political parties in Nigeria.
Barr. Maurice Oru Ebam commended Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for breaking the barriers of selecting a global citizen and seasoned, well-bred Nigerian, Her Excellency Princess ChiChi Ojei as its Presidential candidate ahead of the 2023 general elections making her the only female presidential candidate making history in the forth coming elections.
It has been originally stated that her Excellency Princess ChiChi Ojei represents the second generation of leaders in Nigeria and Leader of an ideological movement based on a new mindset.
Her Excellency Princess ChiChi Ojei a credible alternative in the forth coming Nigeria Presidential elections sits atop a conglomerate of businesses making her a major employer of Labor in the Nigerian economy which scope of activities are diverse and includes construction, banking, importation, sales of choice motor vehicle, gass importation.
Barr. Maurice Oru Ebam who is also a human rights lawyer with passion for the rights of women has started that women’s right are human rights and that women constitute a powerful percentage of the electorate with millions of votes during elections but sadly most political parties only pay lip service using women.
Barr. Maurice Oru Ebam who has been vocal in advocating for the political rights of women says he believes that active participation of women in politics would strengthen the nation’s democratic process starting that a woman in the forth coming Presidential elections has the capacity and competence to occupy the hallowed seat of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Barr. Maurice Oru Ebam said, “women must not be neglected and that it is time for us to empower women and change the societal negative patriarchal perspective.
“Women make up half of the society and raise up the other half and must be given priority hence women must utilize their numbers ahead of 2023 elections by supporting their fellow woman folk running for President.”
Barr. Maurice Oru Ebam stated that, ” it is time to change the negative mentality of women who do not like supporting themselves in politics for we must begin from this forth coming elections to change this negative mentality by making it a national campaign.”
