Jolly Nyame, former Taraba State Governor, and two others were also released from the Nigerian Correctional Service after years in detention.
Raye24reporters, gathered that the former governors and others were released on Sunday morning.
It could be recalled that the duo were convicted by Justice Adebukola Banjoko of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in 2018 for fraud.
The Council of State, led by President Muhammadu Buhari on April 14 approved the pardon of the convicts, a decision which generated outcries.
The FCT Spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service, Chukwuedo Humphrey, confirmed their release to our correspondent in a telephone interview.
