Breaking: Senate Reveals When President Tinubu Will Submit List of Ministerial Nominees

President Bola Tinubu will unveil his long-awaited list of Ministerial nominees within the next 48 hours, according to the Senate.

This information comes as the President seeks solitude to make well-considered decisions about the nominees.

The Senate is urging Nigerians to join in prayer for the President’s sound judgement in the coming 24 hours, in the hope that the outcome will please the population.

This announcement was made by Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, APC, Ekiti Central, during his 60th birthday celebration and book presentation on Leadership and Communication at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

Bamidele stated, “Let me tell you and you must encourage me, I need to make myself unavailable for the next 48 hours because a correspondence must come to the Senate, a very crucial correspondence.

“So Mr President prayed for me. We should tell the rest of Nigerians to pray for me to be able to make the right decision within the next 24 hours so that when Nigerians hear the list of his ministers, they will say yes, this is uncommon and join us to pray for Mr President. He needed to be away from any kind of influence.”

Recall that President Tinubu, inaugurated on 29th May, 2023, has until 28th July to submit his ministerial nominees to the Senate for approval as per the 1999 Constitution as amended.

This document provides a 60-day window for the President and Governors to appoint Ministers and Commissioners after they are sworn into office.

Furthermore, the Constitution mandates that at least one Minister be appointed from each of the 36 States of the Federation.
