Buhari, Atiku, Datti Baba-Ahmed, Other Politicians Who Have Cried on Camera

President Muhammadu Buhari in 2011, two days before the presidential election announced that it was his last attempt at becoming president.

Buhari at that time was the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC)

In the presence of some chieftains of the CPC, Buhari was in tears while reading his speech at the International Conference Center in Abuja.

It would be recalled that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu had said that Buhari was crying after he lost the 2011 election.

Below are several other politicians who have been unable to hold back their emotions on camera.

Patience Jonathan

Days after the abduction of school girls at the Government Secondary School, Chibok in 2014, the first lady at that time broke down in tears while lamenting over the sheer wickedness of the kidnappers.

Patience had invited officials of the school to the presidential villa in a bid to map out a solution to the unfortunate Incidence.

The former first lady while questioning the officials was not satisfied with their responses and broke down in tears.

she dropped what later became the viral phrase “PRINCEPA. Na only you waka come?

“And all these bloods that they’re sharing.

“CHEI. CHEI. There is God O! DIERRIS GOD O!!!”

Ayo Fayose

In 2018, Ayo Fayose, the then-governor of Ekiti State clashed with security forces on election eve.

Fayose, who was rounding off his term, was seeking to install his deputy, Olusola Eleka as his successor.

After the clash with the security operatives, Fayose claimed that he was wounded.

He said, “I am in pain, I am in severe pain. I can’t turn my neck anymore. If anything happens to me, the Inspector General of Police should be held responsible.”

Atiku Abubakar

In 2018, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar was moved to tears after some youths “bought the presidential ticket” of the PDP for him to re-contest again.

Atiku while praising the youths had burst into tears.

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed 

The vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed on Sunday, broke down in tears on national TV over a verbal attack on his late father.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV, wept over the consistent attacks on his person and family since he joined the presidential race.

The LP vice presidential candidate got so emotional at a point he broke down in tears.

Baba Ahmed is not the only politician who has wept on national TV.
