The Nigeria-born Afrobeat star, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy has made history as the first African artiste to sell out a stadium in the UK after selling out the London Stadium.
Burna Boy has become the first African Artiste to sell out 80,000 concert capacity London Stadium in London, UK.
He held his sold out show at 40,000 capacity Paris La Defense Arena, a stadium in Paris, France on May 20, 2023.
“London Stadium is going to be my fairground,” he comments. “I’ve been told that I couldn’t achieve anything because of where I came from, I hope this can show people that when you have a dream it doesn’t matter where you’ve come from, your dream can come true.”
The history-making show at London Stadium (formerly the Olympic Stadiu) “is going to be legendary, it’s history and I can’t wait for you all to be a part of that.”
Burna Boy has shared a new single, a track titled “Sittin’ on Top of the World.” It samples “Top of the World,” Brandy’s Mase-sampling hit from 1998.
Grammy-award-winning singer, Burna Boy is now the Most Streamed Nigerian artiste on all visible streaming platforms.
The list was released by Top Chart Africa on Friday.
Burna Boy tops the list of Most Streamed Nigerian Artistes on all visible streaming platforms with 8.47 billion combined streams, closely followed by Wizkid with 8.39 billion streams.
Davido (3.76 billion), Rema (3.67 billion), and CKay (3.28 billion) complete the top 5.
Tekno, Flavour and P-Square were displaced from the top 10 in the latest list while Tems, Omah Lay and Asake debuted.
