Delta council polls: Pastor Aigui storms hometown for consultation

Ahead of the local government council elections set to hold in Delta State, Pastor Kevin Osarodion Aigui has stormed his hometown of Iduneha quarters of Oza-Nogogo in Ika South Local Government for consultation.

Pastor Aigui, the preferred aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democracy Party (PDP) for the Ika South Local Government Chairmanship position drove his consultation train to his hometown on Friday.

Aigui, during the consultation with the elders and the people of Iduneha, noted that the call for him to serve was a far cry from using the opportunity of public service to enrich one’s self.

The foremost aspirant stressed that he perceived his call to people’s servant to serve with respect, humility and to insure a better life for all and to bring the Local Government to the limelight by embarking on developmental programmes and projects.

According to him, “My vision is to position Ika-South LGA at the forefront amongst other local governments in Nigeria.

“My leadership as the chairman will be characterised by effective governance and a well-defined blueprint that will encompass healthy economic and social activities, including cultural and political awareness”.

He went further to say: “To pursue all that, my administration will give priority to security, mass literacy, skills acquisition, and environmental sanitation.

“I will also ensure the establishment of a transparent and comprehensive Local Government Accountability system.

“Furthermore, my administration will champion efficient and effective youth engagement programs that will boost our local economy through action plans to be fueled by sustainable and robust partnership with our esteemed governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori”.

In his own remark, the acting community head of Iduneha quarters, Mr. Alex Aiworo, who described the visitation as a memorable one, said it has been long overdue.

Aiworo noted it’s the right time for someone from Oza-nogogo to man the affairs at the local government, adding that it’s a thing of joy that such is coming in his own time and the aspirant is coming from his quarter.

According to him, this has marked a significant milestone in the community, which he said will further bring visible development to the community.

In his words: “I am happy that this is happening in my lifetime and we are all happy seeing our own son climbing to this great height at the Local government level.

“He is our own and we are going to gather around him to ensure that he becomes the chairman of our Local government and we want him to know that we are praying for him to see that day come to reality”.
