Edo Guber: PDP Candidate, Ighodalo Speaks on Conceding Defeat

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the September 21 election in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, on Monday, vows to concede defeat if he loses the election fairly and squarely.

Ighodalo stated this during an interview on Channels TV program Politics Today.

According to the PDP candidate, based on his assessment, he would win the election.
Ighodalo, however, charged the people in the state to come out and vote, assuring them that they would be safe.

He said that only Edo people would decide who becomes their next governor.

He said, “The first question my daughter asked me the day I told her I am contesting. She said daddy you are not used to losing. I don’t think you have ever lost. If you lose this, how will you take it?

“Honesty if we lose this election and we know we lost it fairly and squarely, I will be the first to concede. But I know we cannot lose this election if the playing field is levelled. We cannot lose this election.

“We have related well with the people of Edo State. We told the people of Edo State what we will do for them and they trust us. They will vote for us. I know at a level playing field, we will win.”
