The former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has been granted bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
This was disclosed by EFCC Chairman,
Abdulrasheed Bawa while addressing newsmen on Monday.
Bawa addressed journalists in Abuja on the sideline of the 5th Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the Network of Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIMA).
He, however, stated that Obiano is yet to perfect his bail condition and he is still in the custody of the commission.
Raye24 earlier reports that the immediate past Governor was picked up by the anti-graft agency last Thursday at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
There were reports that Obiano was on his way to the United States of America after handing over to the new Governor of the state, Charles Soludo.
Obiano was subsequently transferred to the headquarters of EFCC, where he was quizzed for days over alleged mismanagement of N42bn and inflated contract.
