Fighting Unemployment: NDE Kicks Off Youth Transformation Training Scheme in Kogi

In line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration in Nigeria, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has kick-started the second phase of the Youth Transformation Training Scheme in Technical and Vocational Skills (YTTST&VS) for 32 unemployed persons in Kogi State.

Speaking during the flag off/ orientation ceremony held at NDE Conference room, No. 2 Nathaniel Ajigi Road, Gadumo in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital, the Director General of NDE, Mall. Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo stated that the Directorate remains resolute in tackling the menace of unemployment as its importance can not be overemphasized for meaningful development to fall in place in Nigeria.

The Director General, who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Director, Vocational Skills Development (VSD) Department, Mr. Offia Obinna L.A said job creation, economic growth and ending poverty forms part of the 8-Point agenda to turn around the economy and make life comfortable for all Nigerians.

The State Coordinator NDE Kogi state, Mr. Ibidun Abiodun Amos in a speech, charged prospective participants to take full advantage of the Scheme as it is designed to enable them become self-reliant, earn a living and contribute their quotas to the socio-economic transformation of Nigeria.

On his part, the Head of Vocational Skills Development Department in NDE Kogi State Mall. Adam Yakubu Abubakar charged participants with effective utilization of the rare opportunity provided by the Federal Government.

Ms Khadijat Bello Oyiza who spoke on behalf of other participants commended NDE for the unrelenting efforts in fighting poverty and unemployment, she promised to strive harder to ensure that they make government proud at the end of the programme.
