No fewer than eight persons have been reportedly killed while many others sustained injury as a result of the building collapse in Miga local government area of Jigawa State.
The Adamu Sarki, who is Chairman of Miga Council confirmed this when he paid a condolence visit to the families of the deceased in Miga Town.
He said those who died are Asabe Yusif, Sani Muhammad, Munkaila Musa, Basiru Safiyanu, Hassan Yusif, and Huwaira Ibrahim.
Miga added that the incident had also killed 17-year-old Zainab and two-year-old Abdullahi Salisu all of Miga town.
He explained that the victims lost their lives following a heavy downpour that caused building collapse and submergence of farmlands.
The chairman, however, prayed for Allah SWA to grant their souls eternal rest and the families the fortitude to bear the loss.
