The governor of Jigawa state Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, has announced that his administration has instituted two advisory committees that will advise the state government on how to mitigate or tackle the recurring annual flooding that ravaging the state.
The governor made the announcement on Saturday in a speech he delivered on the occasion of this year’s Maulud celebration and Rational Durbar held at the palace of the Emir of Gumel Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad

He said the first committee will compile the list of the victims what they lost in terms of food crops, houses and raise funds, to advised on how the victims will be assisted.
The governor also pointed out that the second committee will consist of water scientist from home and from Netherlands, who will advise the government scientifically on how to minimize the calamity which always affect the socio- economic well being of the people of Jigawa state adding that the committees are to be inaugurated next week in his office.
While commiserating with the victims governor said, ‘’What ever disaster that befalls the people of the state God in his infinite mercy will lessen it citing an example of the covide 19 that ravaged the world, it was only Jigawa in Nigeria that was not lucked completely where people were allowed to go and conduct their normal daily businesses
because the people are always accepting the situation in good faith”.
He thanked the people of the state particularly the traditional leaders for good advised and cooperation giving to the government and congratulates the entire Muslims of the country for having the opportunity to see the important day of commemorating the birth day of the prophet of [ Islam [ peace be upon him] .
Earlier, the Emir of Gumel in his address, called on Muslims world over to imbibe the traditions, cultures and teaching of the Holy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
On the forth coming 2023 general elections, the Emir advises politicians to be Law abiding and play issue based politics that the election will be conducted peacefully.
He also calls on farmers to quickly harvest their farm yield while warning herders to desist from grazing in people’s farmlands where farm produce are yet to be harvested in the interest of peace and stability
