Out of 400 nomadic school in Jigawa state 31 school were taken over by Fulani’s whose Hamlet, has been distroyed by flood in four local government areas in the state.
This was confirmed by the Executive Secretary Nomadic Education Jigawa state Hajia Ramatu Muhd in an exclusive interview with our correspondent.
Hajia Ramatu, said the affected areas include Guri, Kiri Kasamma Birniwa and Taura local government area in the state.
Ramatu stated further that the Fulani living at five camp in Guri local government are facing serious challenge of starvation, poor health no any assistance from government or individual.
She confirmed that majority of house hold who became victims of flood disaster are now living in critical condition and poor state of health no medication no food in Guri local government area.
She however, appealed to Jigawa state government as a matter of urgency assist the Fulani’s in the area.
Hajiya Ramatu gathered that in Mara Fulani camp over 256 Fulani are living in Mara camp which all of them are house holds ,also 116 persons are taking refuge in Matarar Kano camp.
Hajia Ramatu who shade tears at the camp in Shifka camp due negligence by government and poor condition of people taking refuge in an open place sleeping under trees no mattress no mat no financial support no medication over 78 people living in bad condition.
Also in Askandu and Kwanar Mai Labbo camp 125 person are living is poor conditions due to non availability of government present
She explained further that no good drinking water in all the camps people are suffering of malaria typhoid and many contagious disease that could easily kill the nomad.
She explained further that they are now looking an alternative measure to establish nomadic schools in all the camp for the benefits of their children.
