The immediate past Commissioner for Foreign Affairs in Imo State, Fabian Ihekweme, has decamped from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ihekweme, was received into the PDP at the Kanu Nwankwo stadium in Owerri on Wednesday by the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu.
On hand to receive the former commissioner were former Governor of the state, Emeka Ihedioha, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and other members of the party.
The PDP leadership also welcomed back a former chairman of the party in the state, Charles Ezekwem, with other hundreds of supporters.
Earlier, the Imo state chapter of the party had organised a reception to welcome the National Secretary of the party, Senator Sam Anyanwu and the National Working Committee to the state.
