Four Women And Child Dies Over Boat mishap in Jigawa

The Jigawa state police command has disclosed that four women and a child lost their lives after boarding a canoe from Nguru Yobe State to Adiyani village in Guri LGA of Jigawa State.

According to report, the boat driver lost control, while led to the canoe capsizing close to their destination. However, all effort to rescue the passengers proved abortive.

As a result of the incident the local divers immediately entered into the river for their rescue.

According to the police three corpses were recovered on the spot, including one yaniwura Kasagama ‘age 50yrs, from Lafiya Mallam Bulama ‘age 40yrs and one Mai Madu Mallam Bulama ‘age 7months. 

Meanwhile, they were taken to Adiyani PHC, where they were confirmed dead by medical doctor 

According to the PRO of the command DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, two other corpse were also recovered, their identities are: Badejaka Kasagama age 40yrs, and one Gimto Kasagama age 40yrs all of Adiyani village.
