Gov Bello Declares War Against Igala Nation, Workers, Pensioners

The Governor of Kogi State Alh. Yahaya Bello is no longer pretending to show the good people of Kogi State his real colour as he has declared war against any personality or institution that may stand his way in his attempt to ensure his anointed candidate, Hon. Ahmed Usman Ododo emerges the winner of yet to be conducted Kogi State governorship election slated for 11th November, 2023.

Reliable information obtained by our correspondent revealed that the Governor is bitter about the wave of rejections of Ododo Deputy Governor slot from Kogi East and further emphasized that, the Governor intends to do everything within his power to coax the electorate to do his bidding.

It is gathered that, not less than seven (7) Igala sons and daughters have rejected the proposed Deputy Governor slot from Kogi East.

The Governor who is not be pleased with the outcome of the 2023 National Assembly Election that an opposition won two House of Representatives seats under the platform of African Democratic Congress ( ADC) in Kogi West long side some House of Assembly positions from the area. The Governor is said not to be comfortable with the development while in Kogi Central where he used to hold ground was not business as usual as the People’s Democratic party (PDP) Senatorial candidate gave the ruling party a run for its money as it was claimed that, Mrs Natasha-Akpoti Uduaghan won 4 LGAs out of 5 LGAs while in Kogi East , it was almost 100 percent victory for the ruling party due to the involvement of critical stakeholders in collaboration with Alh. As at the time of filing this report, the political appointees of the Governor are counting months of non-payment of salaries as there were unconfirmed reports from some quarters that, arrangements have been concluded to sack some of them that lost their polling units in the last election while the civil servants in the state are yet to receive their April 2023 salaries despite allocation been received from federation account since two weeks ago.
The issue of salaries of the local government workers is not new to the state as there are yet to receive 100% salary payment since the inception of this administration.

Raye24reporters gathered that, there are anxieties in the state as the people are discussing with low voice and in cluster as the state may return to the old bad days of non-payment of salaries and pension.

A source told our correspondent that, the Governor had spent billions to ensure his tribal man and cousin Ododo emerged the candidate of the party while alots of money have been budgeted to pursue the litigation that may ensue therein as not more than 3 Federal High Courts are listed over the conduct and process of the primaries.
