Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State,
has approved ₦150,000 as Christmas bonus for each worker in the state, marking an increase from last year’s ₦100,000 bonus.
This announcement was confirmed in a Facebook post on Thursday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Monday Uzor.
“Every worker in Ebonyi State service will receive ₦150,000 as a Christmas Bonus before 1pm on Tuesday… Gov. Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru,” the post read.
The bonus demonstrates Governor Nwifuru’s commitment to prioritizing workers’ welfare, particularly during the festive season.
The announcement comes amid the state’s implementation of the new minimum wage act, which exceeds the federal benchmark of ₦70,000 with an additional ₦5,000 for Ebonyi workers.
