The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has challenged the herbalists in Obodhi-Ozochi community to tell their gods to awake and effect a change.
Wike stated this at the flag-off ceremony for road construction where residents were obstructing a road project and also kidnapping the engineers carrying out the construction.
The governor questioned the reason residents would obstruct a project that is meant to develop a community.
Addressing the herbalists in the community, Wike wondered how their gods could condone people carrying such rebellious acts.
He urged herbalist to tell their gods to wake up or he would see to it that they get destroyed.
He said, “Those of you that say you talk to the gods of the land, what are the gods doing? What are the gods doing? Your own is you know the gods when you want to go and ‘shack’ chicken….why not tell the gods..call them! Tell them ‘Are you people sleeping?’, are you not seeing these things that is happening’
