The Coalition of South-East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, have said that it is compiling a list of governors who have allegedly embezzled public funds.
The group issued a message through Goodluck Ibem, it’s president.
The coalition stated that those who embezzled funds would not be allowed to occupy political offices in the upcoming election.
They expressed their disappointment over the high state of corruption, stressing that they would make it their duty to expose all corrupt governors for probe to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, ICPC and other relevant authorities saddled with the responsibility of scrutinizing public office holders.
The statement reads: “As youth leaders of the zone mandated by our people to defend their interest at all times, we have decided to expose all corrupt governors for probe to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, ICPC and other relevant authorities saddled with the responsibility of scrutinizing public office holders.
“We are investigating our governors and any of them found wanting will not be elected or permitted to hold any other political office in the coming election. Ndigbo cannot afford to make another mistake of presenting corrupt persons for any political office again in 2023.
“We call on our people to rise up and defend our commonwealth from being embezzled and taken away by those we elected to protect our interests. The time to act is now”.
