I won more than 50% in Rivers State – Peter Obi claims

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has claimed that he won more than 50% of votes in Rivers State in the just concluded presidential and national assembly election.

Obi who is contesting the results of the election at the election tribunal said he won more than 50% in the Rivers States if the real votes were counted.

Obi made this pronouncement while he was featured on Arise Television’s Morning Show program on Monday.

According to him, in spite of the fact that the Rivers Stae governor, Nyesom Wike came against him, at the February 25 presidential election, he still won over half of his state.

The former Anambra governors also argued that not only the Igbo ethnic people voted for him in Lagos State where he was declared the winner, but indigenous people in the state.

The Labour Party flag bearer also claimed that people of different ethnic extractions across the country voted for him during the February 25 presidential election.

He stated that “Some people said he got votes in Lagos because of Igbos. How many Igbos live in Lagos? I got more votes from indigenous people in Lagos than those you can call visitors. Is it Igbos who voted for me in Nasarawa, Plateau and Abuja? In Rivers where you know that the governor came out against me in everything if the real votes in Rivers were counted, I won more than 50% in the State.”
