The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Jigawa state, have presented Certificates of Return to the Governor-elect, Malam Umar Namadi, his deputy Alh Aminu Usman and 27 members-elect of the state House of Assembly.
The presentation which took place at INEC headquarters in Dutse on Friday, was carried out by INEC National Commissioner in Charge of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru Adam INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Prof. Muhammad Lawal.
The REC, who presented the certificates to the members elect, urged them, including the governor-elect and his deputy to do their best to ensure they keep to the promise they made to the people of Jigawa state.
Namadi, who promised to do his best in keeping all the promise he made during his campaign, urged the people of the state to be watchful over his adminstration.
“We thank you for finding us worthy to steer the affairs of the state in the next four years to come.
“I assure you that we will do our best to ensure that we fulfill all of our campaign promises.
“I want to tell you that we’ve accepted the mande you gave to us, however, I want urge you to be watchful over us by encouraging us where we do right and drawing our attention where we go astray,” Namadi has said.
The governor-elect also thanked INEC, party members and supporters, security agencies and all other stakeholders for ensuring successful and peaceful elections in the state.
The governor-elect received his certificate of return alongside his Deputy, Engr. Aminu Usman. following their victory at the March 18 polls.
