IReV: INEC Uploads 88% of Election Results

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has so far uploaded 155,472 results from 176, 846 polling units.

This is coming six days after the presidential election was held across the country.

The number of polling units uploaded by the electoral body represents 88 per cent of results during the election.

As of the time of filing this report, the electronic transmission of results is still ongoing.

Political parties, groups and several others had condemned the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu for failing to upload results as promised during the election.

The failure of INEC to upload results to its viewing portal on Monday led to the walkout of some party agents at the National Collation Centre in Abuja.

INEC, however, on Wednesday declared the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu as the president-elect.

The electoral body, hours after the declaration presented the Certificate of Return to Tinubu in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the likes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party and their presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi have vowed to challenge the declaration of INEC in court.

Obi on Thursday during a press conference insisted that he was voted in as president by Nigerians, while the former vice president also claimed victory in the election.
