No fewer than 375 person, have retired from state service in Jigawa state as the state and local government contributory pension scheme board, said the sum of N783 million has been released for the payment of their benefits.
This was disclosed by the executive secretary Malam Kamilu Aliyu, during a press briefing organised by the board today, Tuesday.
The executive secretary made the break down where at the state level 157 people retired from service who are to received the sum of N373 million as their benefits.
While at the local government level 79 workers retired from service and received the sum of N121 million as their benefits and for local education authority 41 persons retired from service and the sum of N88 million was disbursed their benefits.
The executive secretary further disclosed that 72 workers who died during service the pension board paid their death benefit to the families.
At the state level in their record 32 people who died were paid the sum of N95 million. However, at the local government level 25 workers, who died got the sum of N47 million.
Adding that at the local education level 15 person who died received N38 million in which a total of N181 million as their benefits
The secretary further disclosed that the pension board has also paid the death pension balance to 23 Pensioners who start enjoying pension and died before they reach five years in the system the secretary said the sum of N18 million has been disbursed to beneficiaries.
Adding that for the refund of eight percent contribution 3 people received the sum of N224 million as their benefits in which out of them one person from the state level received the sum of N91 million and also two person from local education authority received the sum of N132 million naira.
