The Government of Jigawa State have distributed 54 tractors and farming Implements to farmers in 27 Local government council of the state.
This was made known to newsmen by Governor Umar Namaddi, while lunching the tractors today at Jigawa state agricultural company JASCO in Dutse Jigawa state capital Dutse.
According to the governor, the tractors together with other mordern machines was purchased in a view to boost agricultural activities in the state.
Namadi, explained that with the purchase of the tractors, farming activities would improved in the state and it will aide farmers to produce more food during raining season and also at irrigation period.
The Governor added that the tractor is going to work for all farmers, that’s every individual farmer has the right to employed it’s service on his or her farm.
The managing Director Jigawa state Agricultural Company JASCO Alhaji Rabiu Khalid Maigatari, who spoke during the event, said the idea of procuring the tractors for the 27 local government areas, is in line with the vision of his Excellency Governor Umar Namadi.
According to him, JASCO entered in to an agreement with local government through the ministry for local government on the supply of two tractors to each of the 27 local government areas in the state
Explaining further, he noted that the branch of the Massey Ferguson Tractors company is among the highest grade of tractors tested and found durable within the farming community to ensure ease of payment, I stallement plan of twelves month period is approved by the Jigawa state government
