Jigawa State Business Owners Set to Receive ₦150,000 FG Grant

The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led-administration has approved ₦150,000 grant for each business owner in Jigawa State, a move aimed at bolstering the local economy and supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

This announcement was made in a press release issued by the State House, Abuja, and shared by Vice President, Kashim Shettima on his official X-handle on Tuesday.

Shettima, speaking at the launch of the AI Expertise Blockchain and Technology Training and Outsourcing Initiative in Dutse, highlighted the grant as part of Nigeria’s broader strategy for digital transformation and achieving technological leadership in Africa.

He emphasized that Nigeria is not only keeping pace with global developments but is also positioned to surpass them in economic and technological advancements.

Earlier in the day, Shettima inaugurated the 4th edition of the Expanded National MSMEs Clinic.

He disclosed that President Tinubu directed the grant distribution to provide substantial support to business owners in Jigawa State.

According to the Vice President, the ₦150,000 grant is an outright grant that does not require beneficiaries to repay.

Raye24reporters learnt that the grant was approved on the same day both the Senate and the House of Representatives expedited the passage of the National Minimum Wage Act 2019 (Amendment Bill), increasing the national minimum wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000.
