The Government of Jigawa State have selected four LG out of 27 in state for Sanitization and cleaning exercise
The four LG selected include; Guri, Hadejia,
Auyo and Malam Madori local government area of the state with the arm to providing a more hygienic environment.
This was disclosed by the Managing Director of Jigawa State Environmental Protection Agency (JISEPA), Engineer Lawan Ahmed Zauma, during an interview with our reporter in his office.
According to him, all refuse dump in the streets and blocked drainage will be evacuated before raining season to avoid over flooding of water which annually courses havoc and disease outbreak in some areas of the state.
He explained further that the state has been divided in to five segment for the cleaning exercise to be effective in order to improve the living standard of residents in the state.
He however, Assured that the programme will last till June, expecting that it will be revisited in all the major areas which are annually having environmental problem to avoid cholera outbreak in the state.
In the area of revenue generation, a task force will be established by the state government under the supervision of JISEPA urging residents of the state to pay inspection fee to government.
The fee which was officially review by the state government, revealed that private school and other privates business sectors in the state must meet the standard requirement.
Those that are to pay the fee include; pure water factories, restaurants, departmental
store, bakeries, block industries, recycling companies, ice block factories, Fish and Meat sales stores.
He further, assured that defaulters will face the full wroth of the law but before then, they will be served with abatement notice failure to comply with the demand action will be taken against the defaulters.
Explaining further, he reiterated that those who obeyed will be served with certificate which will be paid for by the company.
