Jonathan tells youths who to vote ahead of general elections

Former Nigeria President, Goodluck Jonathan has told the youths to vote for the presidential candidate that has the interest of the nation at heart.

Jonathan made the appeal in Minna, Niger State, on Wednesday when he visited a former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar.

The president said that the country needs a leader who has the interest of the country at heart is all the nation needs at the moment.

He urged that they select a person they believe will lead and serve very well, adding that any candidate that see the country as a project will save the country.

“I appeal to the youth to select a person they believe will lead us well and serve us well, somebody who will take the interests of all of us and the country to heart; a leader who will not compromise our interests for personal gain, especially one who sees Nigeria as a project.

“A leader is also a servant, and as president, you are to lead and you are to serve,” Jonathan said.

Meanwhile, the Former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has admonished Nigerians to vote for the candidate of their choice who has the interest of the country at heart.

Jonathan maintained a neutral position on the best candidate to lead the nation after President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking as a guest of honour on Saturday on the topic ‘Igbo Quest for Nigeria’, Jonathan said the next president must be someone from any political party that believed in the unity of Nigeria.

The former leader gave the advisory at the event which was organized to commemorate the 80th birthday of Nigerian politician and businessman, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
