The Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Jibrin Ismail Falgore, has commended the developmental partners, particularly FCDO LAFIYA, LISDEL, and E HEALTH, as well as the Society for Family Health for their unwavering commitment towards making the retreat a reality.
The Speaker also appreciates the partners for the sustainable partnership and collaboration for a more robust bilateral engagement between the entities in Kaduna state.
In a press statement signed by the spokesperson for the Rt Hon Speaker of the House of Assembly, Kano State, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, it reads: “The two bills have scaled the second reading and are now before our committee on health under scrutiny. The honourable house has already passed the Kano State Public Health Security Bill 2024 into law to help facilitate coordination of public health emergencies and response in the state.”
Furthermore, the development partners extend their deepest appreciation and are ready for robust engagement in the future.
During the technical session, Hon. Musa Ali Kachako, who sponsored the bill, justified the rationale behind the Pre-Marital Screening/Anti-Discrimination Bill, while Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, commander of Hisba, appreciated the efforts of Kano State House of Assembly under the able leadership of Rt Hon Speaker Jibrin Ismail Falgore for the two bills and reiterates stakeholders’ collaborative support.
Tomorrow, the retreat will continue with more robust engagement and technical sessions.
