Kate Henshaw Blasts CBN Over U-turn on Old Naira Note.

Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has slammed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) after the apex bank bowed to the order of the supreme court on the usage of old N500 and N1000 Naira Notes.

Raye24reporters earlier reported that the CBN released a statement hours after President Muhammadu Buhari insisted that he did not order the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, or the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to disobey the apex court’s ruling.

The CBN spokesperson, Isa Abdulmumin, in a statement released on Monday, insisted that the old notes remain legal tender until December 31, 2023.

Prior to the decision of the federal government and CBN, Nigerians endured untold anguish and frustration and in some extreme cases lost their lives in the wake of the Naira crisis.

Reacting to the latest decision of the CBN, the actress via her Twitter handle on Tuesday tackled the apex bank, questioning the reason behind the policy if it would be discarded at the end of the day.

She tweeted: “You brought untold hardship, got banks & their staff attacked, ignited protests with this cash confiscation policy of yours, then you turn around & do this??!!”
