Keyamo Tells Peter Obi apologise to Tinubu for your error

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council spokesman, Festus Keyamo, has asked the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, to apologise for his recent comment.

Recall that Obi in a video accused a Tinubu Support Group of spreading a Whatsapp message calling on Yorubas not to vote for him in the 2023 presidential election.

Obi claimed that the Tinubu group warned Yorubas that a vote for him would be a vote for a seaport in the South-South and South-East.

Reacting in a statement, Keyamo said the former Governor of Anambra State and his supporters should be on the terror watch list for circulating the “dangerous video with fake messages”.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment accused Obi of attempting to cause religious and tribal crises in the country, hence calling on security agencies to investigate him.

In an interview with Chude Jidenowo, Obi praised Tinubu for his contributions to Nigeria in the past, saying that the APC flagbearer is like a brother to him.

The former governor, however, insisted that Tinubu’s time has passed and it is time for someone else to take over.

But in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Keyamo said Obi’s interview was to cover up for his mistake by reading a fake post on Whatsapp and wrongly attributing it to Tinubu.

The minister, however, asked Obi to withdraw his accusation and apologise to the former governor of Lagos State.

He wrote: “Tinubu has contributed to Nigeria’s success, all I am saying is that he should step down and allow others(like me) to rule.”- Peter Obi

This is to cover up for the gaffe you committed by reading a fake post on Whatsapp and wrongly attributing it to
@officialABAT. Just apologise.”
