Kidnapper dump victim at local pond after collecting ransom in Jigawa

A 45 years old man who was abducted and dumped at local pond after paying a ransom of N800,000, has been discovered by security official in Sule Tankarkar of Gumel Emirate in Jigawa state 

According to security, Malam B. Dauda, who is from Maigatarin Bawan Allah Village, in Garki LGA of Jigawa state was found unconscious by a pond along Gumel-Babura Road in Sule Tankarkar LGA opposite LG  Secretariat on Thursday.

The security official stated further that the victim, after regaining consciousness in at Primary Health Care Center in Sule Tankarkar LGA where he was taken by NSCDC security personnel, narrated that he was kidnapped in Dutse LGA by kidnappers on Wednesday, along Dutse-Kiyawa road after he collected the sum of N800,000 from his Bank. 

While speaking further, the victim said he was abducted after he boarded a taxi by the roadside which was meant to convey him to Garki LGA. 

He explained that while he was trying to board a motorbike to the motor park, a taxi pulled over and the driver asked him where he is traveling to he said he’s travelling to Garki, the driver told him to enter the vehicle as he’s also going the same way. 

He entered the vehicle which already has other people in it. According to him when they reached Sule Tankarkar LGA, it was already dark and from there he couldn’t locate where they headed he only find himself in one building together with other hostages, one amongst them told him he came to Jigawa to purchase beans but he was kidnapped and taken there. 

His family were contacted by the kidnappers to pay the sum of N5,000,000 as ransom which he told them not to pay for as a result of that, they made him inhale something which made him unconscious, he only wake up in the Hospital and was told he was found by a pond side along Gumel-Babura Road in Sule Tankarkar opposite LGA Secretariat.

The victim was confirmed to be a staff of Local Education Authority working with  Garki LGA. 

The Nigerian and civil defense command is working assiduously alongside other security formations to apprehend those involved and rescue the remaining kidnapped victims,

He therefore, urged the general public not to board taxi’s outside motor parks so as not fall prey to criminal elements and their hideous plans but should patronized motor parks and other designated places for their movements.
