Kwankwaso Admonish Senators Over Move to Impeach Buhari

The Presidential flag bearer of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has called on lawmakers calling for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari to tread softly.

The former Governor of Kano State stated that he does not know the facts the lawmakers have advised them not to be in a hurry to impeach Buhari.

Kwankwaso further stated that everyone in Nigeria is worried about the security challenges in the country.

The presidential candidate who pointed to the terrorist attack on the presidential fleet in Kastina State called on the leadership in the country to do more on security.

Kwankwaso stated this during a courtesy visit to the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in Ilorin, the state capital.

Recall that lawmakers in the opposition staged a walkout on Wednesday over the security challenges in the country.

The legislators gave President Buhari six weeks’ ultimatum to fix the security situation or get impeached.

He said, “I don’t know the facts that they have. But as their former colleague, I want them to tread very softly.

“They should not be in a hurry to rock the boat. Yes, I know they have reasons to be worried – I am sure everybody in this country is worried about insecurity; because some of these things could happen to anybody – even the presidential fleet was attacked in Katsina State. So, I think we need to do more.”
