The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed four of its governors into the National Campaign Council and Election Management Teams.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made the disclosure in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday.
Ologunagba said the four governors would be in charge of helping the party win the by-elections in Cross River, Imo, Plateau and Ondo State.
According to the PDP spokesman, the nomination of the party members to serve on the campaign team was approved by the National Working Committee (NWC).
Ologunagba disclosed that Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue has been appointed as the chairman of the campaign council for the Jos/Bassa Federal Constituency and Pankshin by-election in Plateau.
He added Ortom will be joined by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State as the co-chairman while Theophilus Shan would serve as Secretary for the federal constituency by-election.
Ologunagba stated that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has been appointed as the chairman of the campaign council for the bye-election in Ngor Okpela State Constituency in Imo.
He added that his Enugu governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has been appointed as the co-chairman, and Ali Odefa would serve as the Secretary of the campaign council.
The party also approved the nomination of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo as chairman, Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo as Co-chairman, and Adesoji Adegunodo as Secretary for Akure North Federal Constituency by-election, Ondo State.
The PDP stated that the Directorate of Organization and Mobilization shall serve as Secretariat for the Council in the election scheduled for Saturday 26th February.
