Aliyu Mohammed Sani, an ardent follower of President Muhammadu Buhari who drank and took his bath with gutter water to celebrate his victory in 2019, had dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Raye24reporters understand that Sani has joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State.
Sani announced his defection while speaking at the secretariat of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Bauchi on Wednesday
He noted that he dumped APC for the PDP as a result of being frustrated and abandoned by the APC.
According to Sani, after celebrating APC’s victory in 2019, no member of the ruling party cared about him.
He, however, stated that a member of the PDP, Musa Azare flew in from Abuja to show care and concern for him, which he said endeared the PDP to him.
Sani said, “He (Azare) was happy to have come and met me in good condition because there were speculations that I died as a result of drinking from the gutter. But after confirming that I am fine, he even gave me a token.
“The reason I dumped the APC is, despite the widespread reports of my action then in the media, they didn’t care about me.”
He noted that he was not seeking monetary reward from APC, but to be empowered on his job, adding that he has twenty youths working under him as a tailor.
Sani said, “I told the APC that my major concern is not to get money from them but to empower me through my skill.”
