MFA, FMHADMSD Update on Evacuation Of Nigerians in Sudan

    In line with the ongoing efforts of the Federal Government in ensuring the evacuation of Nigerian nationals from Sudan, the second batch of returnees numbering 130 will be arriving Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport from Port Sudan on Friday, 5th May, 2023 aboard TARCO Airlines B737-300 at the estimated time of 14:30hrs.

    This was contained in a joint Press release signed by Amb. Janet Olisa and Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development respectively.

    According to the statement, the returnees comprising men, women and children will be received at the airport by top government officials.

    It is to be recalled that the first batch of evacuees from Aswan, Egypt numbering
    376 arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday 3rd May,
    2023 at 11:40 pm aboard the following :

    • Nigerian Air Force (NAF C130) air craft – 94 persons
    • Air Peace Airline – 286 persons.
      The Federal Government seizes this opportunity to reiterate it’s commitment to
      evacuating all affected Nigerians back to the country.
