One Miss. Lizzy Ekene, a resident of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta state, has disclosed that her sister in-law, married to his brother of blessed Memory, identified simply as Ekene Tochi Jane, who was married to one late. Mr. Ekene Steven who is an ADHERENT and priestess of the water spirit.
According Miss. Lizzy, Ekene who is a devoted follower and worshipper of the water diety in their community, has been practicing the African Traditional Worship system which has been considered illegal and unacceptable by the people of the community.
She said “Mrs. Ekene Tochi Jane my late brothers wife, is a staunch adherent of water and priestess of the Deity of our community, which is not welcomed by the members of our community”.
While speaking to newsmen, shortly after obtaining a police extract from the AREA COMMAND OF THE NIGERIAN POLICE, and a dully sworn court affidavit from the high court, same document sighted by Raye24reporters, she noted that Mrs. Ekene, who has since left the community to an unknow location after she regained freedom from her adductors few days before her kidnap, said some unknown individuals from the community, came to warn her to distance herself from such traditional practice which according to them is no longer accepted in the community.
She continued: “On the 15th of October 2022, Mrs. Ekene Tochi Jane, was kidnapped. Few days before her kidnap, some persons came to warn her to stop worshipping the Deity of Africa Tradition or be ready to face the consequences but Mrs. Ekene was later released by her abductors but out of fear it was perceived that Mrs. Ekene Tochi Jane, ran away from the community to an unknown destination for safety”.
