The governorship candidate of the Alliance Peoples Movement, Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman Sankara, said he is the right Candidate to take over from governor Badaru of Jigawa state come 2023.
Alhaji Ahmed, who spoke to our reporter at the NUJ secretariat in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital shortly after their election, where he emerged as the winner through consensus.
Sankara said “I have all the necessary plan to win the election in 2023 and if elected my first priority is to bring the youth back to farm through modern farming and I will provide land, accommodation, hospital and schools to farmers in which after harvesting my government will purchased the grains from them at an affordable price ” he explained .
He added that his government will introduce the cloister farming with intention to stop the youth from going to South in the name of cirani.(business )
In his words “I have no doubt that I am the one who will succeed governor Badaru by 2023 if I work with my master plan and I am sure if elected I will take Jigawa to the next level” he explained .
While Fielding question from Journalist Alhaji Ahmed, said his priority is to empower women and youth by providing all the necessary support to the youth in the state, because they are engine room of today’s society.
He explained further that his plan if elected in 2023, will be to boost farming and improve education and the health sectors by providing the necessary tools
Assuring that all health schools in the state will be utilized in providing health personnel in all the health facilities in the state.
He however, promised to utilise the former governor Saminu Turaki Idea in bringing new broadband for the development of the state either from Germany or China for the state to have revenue source that will sustained the state in order to move the state forward.
He explained further that he will draw line from where Badaru stop and he will not probe his government.
In the area of irrigation, he also noted that his government has the blue print of former Kano state governor Alhaji Audu Bako , I will use that blue print to improve irrigation system in Jigawa state.
By construction water channels from Ringim area down to Maigatari through Gumel to enable people participate in irrigation farming in those area by drilling the river from Ringim down to Maigatari to improve irrigation farming in the state.
