NIDO Africa Prepares for Monumental Annual General Meeting in Ghana, Aiming to Unite and Forge Ahead

    ACCRA, GHANA – Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Africa (NIDO Africa) is excited to announce its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), set to take place from the 23rd to the 25th of May 2024. This year’s event, proudly hosted by NIDO Ghana, is particularly noteworthy as it celebrates the successful resolution of past internal conflicts and symbolizes a new chapter of unity and collaboration for the organization.

    Interim Chairman of NIDO Africa, Hon. Mark Akuma, reflected on the challenges passed through to reach this milestone.

    “The road to achieving this breakthrough has not been an easy one,” he said. “We are immensely grateful for the support and resilience that have led to the successful reuniting of our community.”

    In a gesture of solidarity and encouragement, High Chief Calistus Elozieuwa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for NIDO Ghana, commended the Interim Committee for their dedicated efforts and urged all members to attend this landmark event.
    According to the Interim President of NIDO Ghana, Pastor Prince Olayemi Akinwande, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency, Dr Mohamadu Bawumia will grace the AGM with his presence as the Special Guest of Honour, and will declare the event open.

    In addition to his esteemed appearance, Honourable Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa — Chairman/CEO of Nigeria in Diaspora Commission — will formally announce the commencement of the AGM and deliver a speech highlighting ‘The Need for Unity in NIDO Africa’.

    Ambassador Dayo Adeoye, acting in his capacity as Charge ‘D Affairs of The Nigerian High Commission in Ghana, is the Chief Host for the event.

    The AGM is also expected to welcome many illustrious guests including delegates from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, numerous diplomats, and esteemed visitors.

    This high point of the AGM is the NIDO Africa General Election. The election will take place on the 24th of May 2024 to usher in new executive council of NIDO Africa.

    Pastor Prince Olayemi emphasized that this year’s AGM represents not just a gathering but a beacon for all members of NIDO Africa and Africans in diaspora globally. “It is a call to come together in unity and contribute to our collective progress,” he stated.

    All diasporans across continents are encouraged to join what promises to be an epic occasion marking a new era for NIDO Africa.
