Nigerian Navy, Oil Producers Trade Section strengthen partnership

    A delegation from the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tuesday, visited the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja.

    The aim of the visit was to strengthen the partnership between the Nigerian Navy and the oil industry to boost production for a vibrant economy.

    The Executive Director of OPTS, Mr. Gwueke Ajaifa, who led the delegation discussed enhanced cooperation in protecting oil and gas infrastructure and combating security challenges.
    Mr Ajaifa acknowledged the Nigerian Navy’s crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s energy resources, noting that the partnership aims to boost oil production and ensure a secure environment for operations. He solicited more collaboration between the two to create a friendly environment for optimal production.

    In his response ,the CNS highlighted the success of Operation DELTA SANITY in the Niger Delta region for the past six months ,adding that adding security partnership enhanced effectiveness in combating crude oil theft and maritime crimes.

    He thanked the delegation for the visit ,acknowledging the whole of society approach pivotal in tackling multifaceted security challenges in the country.

    The meeting highlighted the importance of synergy and a whole-of-society approach in tackling security challenges, paving the way for increased collaboration and a more secure future for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
