The Nigerian Immigration Service has donated the sum of over four million Naira (N4 million) to the family of Muhammad Abdullahi, an officer who died in an encounter with suspected terrorise suspected to be Fulani bandits along Maigatari Gaaladi road less than 3/kilometer to Niger republic boarder.
Addressing the pressmen during his condolences visit to Jigawa state government, Emir of Dutse and the family of the decease, the Controller General of Nigerian Immigration Service CG Idris Isa Jere, said they are proud of the sacrifice made by Muhammad Abdul and the two injured officers and other members of the patrol team.
He said, it is the Immigration Service duty to protect the boarders of the country making ensure no miscreants, criminals or unlawful items allowed into the country.
Mr Jere also expressed his happiness on how the two injured officers Abba Musa Kiyawa (DSI) and Zubairu Garba (AII)” are responding to treatment, and assured the commitment of his organization on the security and welfare of its men.
He however, revealed that the command will provide maximum security to the Nigerian boarder stating that the Immigration Service will soon commence e-boader patrol.
The CG added that, the federal government has approved for the redeployment of CCTV Camera, Drones and other electoral gadgets for the surveillance of the country boarders.
Mr Isa Jere, noted that the operation of e-boader patrol is money demanding, he therefore called on the federal government to increase their annual budgetary allocation to enable them discharged their duty effectively
He however, appealed to state governments to complement the effort of federal government in the provision of patrol vehicles and other logistic support to them describing the security as a collective responsibility the of government and the general public.
