Ansaru, a dreadful terrorist organization, has denied attacking Abuja-Kaduna bound train in March 2022, which claimed nine lives.
Recall that the terrorists group had planted explosives on the rail track which derail the Kaduna-bound train.
Following the incident, the terror group abducted sixty passengers on the train and released videos showing the victims in captivity.
The Ansaru terrorists distance themselves from the train attack, after releasing a statement on Thursday, stating that attacking innocent citizens was not part of their ideology.
The bandit group also shared the statement which was written in Hausa with travellers along Birnin Gwari -Funtua Highway on Thursday evening.
According to the group, their main aim was to defend Islam and Muslims who have been cheated and oppressed by the Nigerian government and other black African countries.
The group also claimed that a man called Abu Barra was not their leader, adding that they will announce their leader to the public soon.
In a chat with Daily Trust, a resident of Birnin Gwari said that the group came out on that day to distribute the statement to commercial drivers on the Birnin Gwari highway.
He, however, stated that the bandits didn’t attack anybody on the road.
