NPC Seek Jigawa Govt Support on Child Registration

Six state out of the 36 of the federation have been selected for the first enumeration exercise in the country in which Jigawa state is inclusive.

The exercise would be conducted in the six geopolitical zone selected in the country as a test forth coming national sensors exercise.

This was disclosed by the Jigawa state director National population commission Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed in an exclusive interview in his office.

Mr Ahmed said over 104 adhoc staff have been employed for the recent exercise conducted in some selected local government during the trail sensual in the state.

He therefore appealed to parents to register their children with the commission, noting that the child registration is very important.

Explaining further that electronic registration would soon be conducted through out the 27 LGA in the state to ensure all children are registered with the population in the state.

He faulted the federal government for not not employing the staff to conduct the exercise as a result of that the commission is now facing challenges of poor turn out of people to register their children.

Appealing to Jigawa state government to employed adhoc staff in all the 27 LG to assist the commission in child registration before enrollment of children in to primary schools

He call on the state assembly to enact a law that will force parent to registration their children the with commission, stating that any child that does not registered with population will not be enrolled in to primary school as part of the state law.
