Obi Disclose What he Would do About Biafra Agitation if Elected President

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi on Wednesday revealed what he would do about agitation in Nigeria if elected as president in 2023.

The former Governor of Anambra State promised to engage in dialogue with those agitating for secession.

Obi who stated this during an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday said he has observed how other countries handle the issue of agitation.

The presidential candidate noted that agitation in Nigeria is a result of poor leadership in the country.

Speaking on his support for the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) Obi said he had never been involved in any agitation.

He said, “I have never been in any agitation. I had said that the agitation is because of leadership failure over the years. I will engage them in dialogue if elected into power”.

This is coming after IPOB warned the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso against linking it with Obi.

IPOB said it was necessary to state categorically that the former Anambra State Governor is not one of its members and has never supported the agitation for self-determination; hence Kwankwaso should desist from such connections.
