Ogun Gov Rejects Buhari’s Directives Distributes 1,000 Naira Old Notes to Residents (Video)

Governor, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has allegedly distributed old 1,000 Naira notes to residents in State.

This comes amidst the directives of the Central Bank of Nigeria that the old Naira notes have ceased to be legal tender and allegations that some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors had stocked up old 500 and 1000 Naira notes to induce voters.

In a video sighted online, some of the residents were seen with envelopes branded with governor Abiodun’s picture.

While they lamented that people are rejecting the old money, a voice who spoke in the background convinced the resident that the notes remain legal tenders contrary to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) policy.

He also urged them to express appreciation to the governor and the residents in turn prayed for Abiodun.
