Palestine Supports The Two-State Solution to The Palestine-Israeli Conflict-Shawesh

The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Nigeria, Amb. Abdullah Abu Shawesh has stated Palestine support for the two-State solution for the resolution of the Palestine-Israeli conflict.

He stated this in a chat with Press men at the Embassy of Palestine in Abuja.

According to the Palestinian envoy, the Palestinian Authority government is totally in support of the two-State solution after all areas of disagreement has been amicably settled. He accused the Israeli government of using delay tactics and going back on agreements reached in the past by putting upstacles to the resolution of the conflict.

He further accused the current Israeli government of being ultra-conservative and messianic and bent in putting stumbling blocks to the resolution of the conflict.

He called on the international community to apply pressure on the Israel government to refrain from attacking Palestine. The two-State solution refers to an arrangement where Israel and Palestinian states co-exist in the region.

The two-State solution supported by the United States government and numerous countries in the world has not materialise because of four main reasons namely: Borders, The question of Jerusalem, Refugees, and Security.

Another upstacle to the implementation of the two-state solution is the fact that while the West Bank is administered by the Palestinian Authority (PA), Gaza is governed by Hamas regarded by Israel as a terrorist organisation and therefore both the United States government and the Israelis would not talk to a terrorist organisation.
