Police Commence Investigation into Alleged Killing of Three in Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the alleged killing of three persons in Ibadan, the state capital.

On Monday, the three victims were said to have been killed by yet-to-be-identified people. The incident happened around Office Bus Stop, after the World Oil petrol station on the new Ibadan/Oyo Expressway in the Akinyele Local Government area of the state.

It was further gathered that one of the victims was beheaded while vital parts were also removed from the remaining two bodies.

Speaking to Channels Television in a telephone interview on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Wale Osifeso, said a thorough probe into the matter is in full swing. He added that details would be provided for the public on what transpired in the matter.

Ritual killing was suspected as the motive behind the incident but the police have not confirmed this as an investigation into the crime continues.

It is believed that the victims were passengers looking for cheap buses to board to either Oyo, Ogbomoso, Ilorin, or even Jebba.

Owing to the hike in transport fares during festive seasons, many passengers that can’t afford it usually look for buses by the roadside, rather than at the designated parks.
