An Officer of the Nigeria Police force, who killed a woman lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, on the 25 December, 2022 in Lagos has been handed a death sentence
According to judgement passed by the court on Monday, the said officer is to die by hanging.
Raye24reporters reports that Inspector Drambi Vandi had fatally shot Bolanle Raheem at the Lekki area of Lagos .
Justice Ibironke Harrison found the defendant guilty on one count of murder saying “You will be hanged by the neck till you are dead,”
The accuser was the only witness who testified in his own defence.
Vandi had told the court that the bullet presented in court which was said to have killed the deceased did not come from the rifle he carried on the day of the incident.
The killing of Raheem, who was said to be pregnant at the time of her death happened on Christmas Day when on a family outing.
