Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has commented on the just concluded general elections in Nigeria.
Sani specifically addressed politicians who bring up religion to legitimise their “evil” after winning elections by rigging, falsifying results, or vote buying.
He wrote: “After they buy votes, falsified figures and rigged elections, they will bring in religion to launder and legitimise their evil; and want you to believe that power is from God. Power derived from rigged election is not from God.”
His statement comes as some politicians called on Nigerians to accept the outcome of the polls, stating that it is the will of God.
