Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps NSCDC, in Hadejia today, Sunday, at around 0520hrs have discovered a new born baby girl abandoned at dilapidated building in Kandahar B Quarters, of Hadejia LGA. in Jigawa state.
The Baby was discovered in a dilapidated building, by one Zakar Mohd, a residents of the area while returning from the mosque after observing morning prayers and he heard the cry of the Baby that was placed by a netted fence meant to deter animals from gaining access to a Guinea corn farm in the building.
He immediately reported the incident to the Ward Head, Ballaji Ali who informed the NSCDC personnel at the Divisional office in Hadejia about the ugly development.
On reaching the scene, the Baby was taken to the General Hospital Hadejia to ascertain her health condition and was certified healthy by a medical Doctor.
However, the baby has been handed over to officials of Social Welfare Department unit in Hadejia LGA for proper care.
The PRO of the Jigawa state civil defense command CSC Adamu Shehu, who confirmed the story, assured that the command will intensify investigation on the matter in order to fish out the culprits to face full wrath of the law.
