Servicom Lauds NYSC on Service Delivery

    The National Youth Service Corps has been applauded by the Servicom National Office for its efficiency, innovation, and effective service delivery to members of the public.

    The Chief Executive Officer/National Coordinator Servicom, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli stated this today in her address at the Executive Session of the one-day workshop on the culture of continuous service improvement in NYSC held at the National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja. This was contained in a statement signed by Eddy Megwa fnipr, Director, Press and Public Relations.

    She said there is the need for continuous improvement with innovations, adding that teamwork is a catalyst for development.

    Speaking further, the Servicom Boss advised NYSC Management not to lower the standard in service delivery, but set more targets for quality service.

    “Good leadership, effective communication, honesty, transparency and accountability are necessary tools for improvements.

    You must continue to work together to support the Director General in order to succeed in office”, She said.

    Akajemeli added that Servicom Office would continue to respect, protect and uphold the universal concept of dignity and human rights.

    The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed in his address reiterated the commitment of his administration to efforts that would improve customer-focused service delivery.

    General Ahmed, whose address was presented by the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Alhaji Ahmed Wada Ikaka said the workshop will improve the participants’ knowledge and skills with a view to promoting improved service for excellence.

    “It is my firm belief that in no distance time, the Scheme will be elevated with a 5 star rating in consideration in our commitment in upgrading our service efforts”, the DG said.

    In his introductory address, the Head of Reforms Unit, Mr Sunday Aroni said NYSC is highly rated for resilience as well as commitment to it’s mandate of promoting National Unity and integration.

    “It behoves on us to ensure that our existing strategies which earned the admiration and praise of Nigerians are effectively polished and successfully handed down to the next crop of the Scheme’s leaders”, Aroni said.
