Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the governor-elect of Anambra State is no longer hiding his disdain for the outgoing governor of the state, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano. His absence today at the last event of the outgoing governor is a confirmation of our earlier reports that all is not well between the two leaders.
Prof Soludo started fighting gov Willie Obiano immediately he was returned elected on November 6, governorship election.
Apart from taking ndi Aguata on a Thank You visit to the home of gov Obiano at Aguleri, Prof Soludo has distanced himself from his would-be predecessor. He has been absent in all the events of the APGA govt without sending a representation.
Today is the last public event of gov Obiano – opening of the International Convention Centre, Awka, launching of a book that chronicled his 8 year achievement and presentation of awards to deserving ndi Anambra. As important as this event is, Prof Soludo was conspicuously absent.
They can no longer hide it. Prof Soludo and gov Obiano are in a political cold war. It is unfortunate that Soludo pretended to be an apostle of gov Obiano when he was contesting for governor, only to turn to enemy immediately he got the support of gov governor and got elected as governor.
His absence today at the last state function of gov Obiano is an indication that ‘it has totally broken and can not be amended.’
